10: spaces
Today’s picture doesn’t focus on Andrew!  Not that I was getting tired of his wonderful face, but I really love this photo of Luna, and she deserves some attention too :)  The theme for day 10 was spaces and while Luna has many spaces she loves, at night, when we are settling in to relax and work on our various “hobbies” or catch up, she definitely has her favorite.  Andrew’s lap :)  So much that she does this little growly thing when he wants to move her to get up and grab some water, or whatever.  It’s kinda funny.  And it doesn’t make me feel like she doesn’t want to be with me, because when I get home from work she is INSANELY excited to see me - and I love that.  But I think its adorable how comfortable she is sitting there with him and how content she looks.  So there will be more Luna posts from now on, and probably some that include both of them - Yeah for my cute family!

09 passions and hobbies
So I am going to keep this short and sweet, mostly because I am already late and this has been a crazy week at work.  But I definitely wanted to post this and keep up on my project :) The theme for day 9 was to capture your love doing what they love!  Andrew LOVES music - and constantly amazes me with his knowledge of all things musical.  He always has a variety of tunes playing, and loves to teach me as much as I am willing to learn, haha.  But I truly appreciate his passion and love when he gets so excited to listen to a particular piece.  I hope that our little one inherits his passion for music and is able to share that with Andrew.  And how cute would it be to see the two of them sharing ear buds :)

08: love from the heart
Today’s theme is to depict a gift that was given to ME by someone I love.  And Andrew being the subject of my photo series thus far (and really, who are we kidding, for most of the rest of it I am sure) I of course am focusing on a gift from him.  Now, there are obvious gifts, such as my engagement ring, my anniversary necklace, birthday presents, etc., but I really wanted to find something that wasn’t obvious and really made me smile.  I remembered that last Christmas Andrew got me a new green coat that I had been eying :)  But what touched me the most was that it was completely unexpected and I LOVED to wear it.  Of course this year, it wasn’t really fitting over my belly, so it hasn’t gotten much use.  But I am looking forward to wearing it next year for some fun winter days!

06: who they love & 07: generations

On Sunday we took a walk.  And I brought my camera :) It was a beautiful day - one on which we had gotten up WAY early to go pick up our lovable little Luna after a week without her and then came home only to leave again to go to a brunch at church.  It was fantastic to meet other people new to and involved in our church and really made us excited about being members of St. Judes.  As much as we enjoyed ourselves though, we couldn’t wait to come home and hang out with our little fluff ball.  To catch everyone up, Luna is now about 15 months old and ever since we have had her, she has “leaked.”  Turns out it was a condition where one of her ureters was ectopic and just not feeding into her bladder, thus no “valve” to turn it off.  With a baby on the way, we figured we didn’t want to have two little ones in diapers, haha, so we took her up to University of Georgia and they fixed her right up :) (Or so we hope - we were told it will take about 4-6 weeks to see if it takes - but so far so good!)  Luna was a little bit out of it, so we decided to perk her (and ourselves!) up with a nice walk around our complex.  The sun was shining, the weather was warm, and I needed to take some pictures.  We got some fun shots for my photography session as well as some bonus fun ones :)

For the joy of love series, being as willette posted both days 6 and 7 in the same post, so did I.  Day 6 was about capturing those you love with those THEY love.  Well naturally Andrew loves US (Luna and myself) so we did a little “self-portraiture” on the dock here at the Lodge.  I made sure to take into account the lighting effects I learned in my photography class last weekend and we were happy with the shots.  Day 7 was all about generations, and since baby blob is not quite ready for it’s photo debut, I wanted to get a nice photo of Andrew and his furry baby Luna.  I really love the emotion in this picture and I think it will be one I frame for the office :)  Additionally we took a couple fun shadow pictures while walking so I wanted to include those as well.  (Gotta love the belly shadow!)  So while we got a ton accomplished this weekend, and are this much closer to getting that nursery done, I am SO glad we took time for such a lovely walk.  And very glad that Luna is back - we missed her!

05 love to hate
Sorry this is late, but we had a fantastic weekend full of getting things done!  And while that list of “things done” did include taking pictures, it did not include uploading them, playing around in Lightroom and then blogging about them.  But, I did take the pictures so I consider that a success!  Plus I took A LOT of pictures, so it was a great learning experience.  And BONUS - they were outside, or in natural light, so finally getting to play around with that was wonderful.
So this picture theme was “love to hate.”  And no, I don’t love to hate either Andrew OR Luna :)  I love to love them, haha.  But….Andrew works from home.  Sometimes I will go to chat with him to see how they are doing, and his status is idle.  And when I finally do connect with him later, I find out that he (they) took a little nap.  Now while this doesn’t happen that often, and I am not even a huge fan of naps for myself (yet … I hear with a baby you become one!), it still makes me a tad bit jealous to know that he has the option.  So this is what I envision them looking like on those days, and while I envy the two of them, I love how cute they are and that he is able to stay at home and has the flexibility to take care of Luna and get things done.  So a few naps here and there are good for all of us :)

Belly Pic Time!  I know you all have been waiting ANXIOUSLY for another one since this is like the…second…one that I have posted :)  So we haven’t been the best belly pic posters - oh well.  But now that we are at just about 32 weeks, I thought it was time for another.  YIKES!  Less than 2 months to go!  So exciting!!  We ordered our crib and have massive plans to make room for it in the nursery - so that is where we will be all day tomorrow.  Wish us luck!  So…enjoy the picture - this way you get to see MY pajamaniminas :)

04: what they wear

So today has been a great day!  Fridays usually are though, aren’t they?  I really wanted to get a picture of Andrew while it was still light out, but that was not to be…and I am alright with that.  But tomorrow - expect a better natural DAYlight photograph :)  Today’s theme was what they wear and I thought about what I wanted to do for it all day.  (Andrew even had me pick out his shirt this morning!)  I was going to focus on his hat, because that is his favorite accessory, but day 2 photos showcased that already, so it wasn’t really anything new.  So, I just wasn’t sure.  Well we had a good day, both got a lot organized for work and home, and then we went to an event at our Church.  Who can resist the opportunity for wine and cheese night and the potential to meet other young adults in our area?  Don’t worry - I had lemonade:)  We had a really nice time, met some very nice people and then came home and …put on our pajamas.  And thus - new inspiration!  Because the majority of the time, when we are home, we are in comfy clothes - what we for whatever reason call pajamaniminas.  Yeah, we are weird. But you can use it if you want :)  Ok all - off to enjoy being comfy and cozy on this lovely Friday night!

P.S.  So I just edited this because I realized I forgot to link to willette’s day 4 post like I always try to, and also realized that I never actually looked at her post for the day - whoops :)  Imagine my surprise when I saw that her first picture was of her husband’s slippers - ha!!  Guess it wasn’t that silly of an idea after all.

03: then and now
So today was a busy day, and as such, I wasn’t as creative :)  In the tutorial for today willette had various ideas of how to compose this shot, and one was of your loved one holding a photo of themselves from the past.  And being the technology peeps we are, we had Andrew hold the ipad with said picture.  Ha.  And you only get 1 photo today because I only took like 10 pictures and this was the only one I like.  See, told you I wasn’t too creative today.  But on the plus side I got a fantastic online session in Adobe Lightroom tonight with Deb Layden so I got some basic skills in that program.  Of course I tried to put them to use a little in editing this photo, but…well….I got tired and just wanted to get this post up before bedtime :)  Maybe tomorrow I will try all the cool tricks I learned and maybe, if I am feeling REALLY adventurous, will even take them into Adobe Photoshop - gasp!  Probably not though, cause we have things to do tomorrow, too!  Man, cooking a baby keeps you pretty busy…
Oh yeah, and ipad (then) picture courtesy of Becca who has her own fantastic photography business now.  Maybe there is hope for me!

02: how they look

So, day two of my photography project.  The assignment today was to capture how a loved one looks: at their best, worst, whatever, but to show their true essence.  Well my Ruby has many faces, and he likes to show them ALL to me :) Mostly to annoy me or make me laugh, haha, but what really captures that for me is any look that includes his eyes going big.  Gets me every time!  But he also has a fantastic smile, so of course I had to show off that as well.  Usually he wouldn’t be smiling while laying on the floor…but…he is very helpful like that.  (We realized our home doesn’t have great backgrounds!)  I ended up doing both of these in black and white again, but I love the effect much better tonight - and I think the shots are better, too!  See, improving already :)

01: what they do

Today I started a photography workshop called “the joy of love” that will last for the entire month.  Introduced to the class by my friend Kate, it is through the website willette and promises to be a fantastic way to learn more about photography while challenging myself to actually carry something through (for a whole month!).  I am on a learnallyoucanabouttakingpictures kick while waiting for our little bambino, so I am especially excited to find some cool ways to capture images that I can apply to baby blob :)  (if you didn’t know, that’s our “pet name” for the lil one).  So everyday (yikes!) there will be a new picture (or few) for your viewing pleasure, and hopefully they get better as I go.  Cause I know these first 2 are a bit rough, but that just makes it all the better to document how far I will come by the end of the month!

Decorating the baby’s room has been on my mind (pretty much since I first found out I was pregnant) so today, being as I have the day off for MLK, Jr. Day, I decided to spend a little time browsing online….when I should be actually cleaning out the room we are going to be using for the nursery :/  But that’s no fun and well, this is :)  I’ll get to cleaning in a little bit - once I get properly inspired by all the fun stuff I want to buy!  It is amazing how many places I have come across fun things I would like to use in the nursery -  especially places that probably I wouldn’t have initially thought of as sources for decorations.  Today I spent a good amount of time on Urban Outfitters after getting a sale email from them.  (Too much time!)  Now while I might not get all of these things, I am definitely putting them on my wish list to come back to when I need the perfect little something for some particular thing I am doing.  Check out the fun stuff I was drawn to above, and if you are interested yourself here is where you can find them.  Happy Shopping!

Ok, last post of the night - I promise! But what day full of snowboundness and night full of delicious cooking would be complete without a yummy dessert? And that’s where the brownie a la mode comes in. Simply delish.

So after 2 days of being snowbound at home, not only have I been posting more to my tumblr, but we have been cooking! Tonight Andrew roasted a chicken, I made some rice, broccoli and threw together a fruit salad with a little yogurt on it (since we ran out of milk and needed some dairy) and a feast was made! Quite yummy and made us feel a bit less stuck and a little more lucky to be sharing time together :) Plus Luna loved the scraps!
